Lecture Series
The Lecture Series is focused on dissemination of cutting-edge developments related to the many facets of chemistry digitalisation. Each session has two speakers, providing an engaging discussion from both an academic and industry perspective on a common theme.

These talks are open to all. They are held monthly at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge.

iDMT Centre of Excellence annual event was held on July 3rd 2025 at Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry. This one-day event reviewed progress of the Centre over its first year as a member-funded Centre of Excellence. We will review centre outputs (products, IP protection, specific projects with members, training events, networking etc), hear updates on scientific topics of relevance to the Centre and formulate and discuss future plans.

iDMT Centre of Excellence and Materials Innovation Factory (MIF) jointly organised the Making Digital Labs a Reality - Skills Workshop, hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry in London. Through this one-day workshop, participants explored the innovations in digital laboratory technologies and discussed the essential digital skills needed to prepare the next generation of researchers in chemistry and chemical engineering.

iDMT Centre of Excellence held its first summer school in Digital Technologies for Chemical R&D. The school is aimed at researchers interested in latest developments in AI for chemistry R&D and novel technologies for chemistry R&D.

Conference topics include AI for drug discovery, ML for reaction prediction and AI for process design; also a workshop on no-code machine learning in chemistry.

On July 4, 2024, the iDMT Centre of Excellence was officially launched. At launch the CoE was supported by 8 companies and the University of Cambridge, providing funds for Centre operation, business development, research leadership and organisation of the events.

The conference will feature keynote and invited lectures from global champions of research in ML/AI in chemistry/(bio)chemical engineering, and regular lectures selected from the community submissions.

Throughout the two-days of interactive sessions, participants had the opportunity to hear from members of academia, industry and other SMEs and discuss the emerging opportunities within digital molecular technology and their practical implementation.
